Getting Back On The Bike…

It’s hard to believe that it’s been 4 years since our first family bike tour.
Since then I’ve done a few smaller multi day rides, some with Lara and others as sponsored charity rides on faster bikes and no luggage onboard.
Our plan was to do another family ride in 2020, but Covid put a stop to that and then we moved to a new region of the UK last summer so life has been hectic.
So here we are, 4 years since our last big family tour and 2 days into another epic “holiday” (read “challenge”.
We’ll post more over the coming days, but in essence, we’re cycling from our home in Sussex to Paris and back, over a 14 day circular trip with a few rest days and an extended stay in Paris when we get there.
We’re currently in Rouen at the end of our second day of cycling, with a rest day planned for tomorrow, so that’s when we’ll write a longer entry explaining the route itinerary, reasons behind the trip and the few issues we’ve faced thus far (including me being full of head cold and wanting to quit at every stage but not being able to).
Anyway, until tomorrow, thanks for being part of the journey.
