A Night in La Rochelle
After a longer drive than expected, we arrived in La Rochelle at about 3pm. The apartment is perfect, including things like washing up liquid, shower gel and tea towels. There is a secure place for our bikes but we didn’t get this info until we had moved them all into the apartment. They fit so we will just leave them there.
We had a quick explore of the area and a local coffee then picked up food for dinner. It’s still very hot but not as hot as the UK!
When we booked, we asked our accommodation host where would be good to leave our car for the week and they suggested the free car park just opposite our accommodation. On arrival I spotted that there was only one space that was under a tree. After dinner I popped out for a look and…. ta da… the space was free, so our car can spend a week under a tree, hopefully staying very safe. All that is in the car is a few clothes for the second week of our holiday and a cheap BBQ so it should be fine.
We decided to repack all the panniers again because there wasn’t an even weight distribution but now it’s better. We’ll do a video at some point about all the stuff we’ve packed and how we organised it.
It’s much cooler now and sitting outside is lovely. Time to play a game.
PS. I’ve found a beer I like, and I’m not sure Jon is happy about that!
