Barham to Paris – Day 6 – Paris rest day 1
Thankfully the Airbnb has pretty decent beds so we all had a good long night sleep. Mum and I where first awake and so when to the laundrette early/mid morning and washed the majority of our clothes. We picked up pastries and baguettes and took them back with us. Mum, Maisey and I were all feeling pretty good after the long day on the bikes, unfortunately it had worn dad out and he wasn’t feeling great. We then all walked about half a mile to Aldi to pickup all the food we need for the next few days. After pasta for lunch and a lazy afternoon we headed into the city center for the first time (not on our bikes cycling through).
The metro was pretty easy to navigate which was handy. Tickets were easy to buy, €2.10 per person, per trip, no matter where your going (I wish the London Underground was that cheap!). Instead of the lines having names, like on the tube, it’s just numbers. Google maps has been very handy, and makes it easy to know which line to get in which direction.
Our main aim of the evening was to explore Paris a bit and see the Effie tower sparkle at 10pm (something on Maisey’s bucket list). It was a great evening of exploring, picnic dinner, Burger King ice cream and stareing at a a big tower. It was also quite amusing seeing the lengths people go to for a photo, with probably about a dozen people standing in the middle of a busy road, just to get their photo taken.

Once 10pm had past and the Effie tower was back to normal we headed back to the metro. It was pretty busy and after queuing for a while to buy tickets we realised the barriers were open! Not a big issue though as we can use the tickets another day. It takes about an hour to get to/from the center to our Airbnb so we got back just after 23:00.
